VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) allows you to talk on the telephone over the Internet and can be a cost-effective way to communicate. There are three main ways to use VOIP: •PC-to-PC With VOIP PC-to-PC you can speak to someone anywhere in the world for an unlimited amount of time at no cost (all you (and the person you are speaking to) needs are a high-speed Internet connection and up to date computer, speakers and a microphone). You can also use the service for conferencing, video-conferencing and voice-mail to e-mail servers. •PC-to-phone By using VOIP PC-to-phone you can make outbound calls from a PC to an analogue phone via a ‘dialler’ which can be downloaded from the Internet. Then, all you need to do to make cost effective calls to anywhere in the world is set up a user account which is funded by a debit or credit card. •Phone-to-phone VOIP phone-to-phone works like a traditional phone service, expect that phone calls are through your broadband connection instead of over a traditional phone line and tend to be cheaper than using a standard landline. We can work with you to assess whether VOIP would be beneficial for your business and will ensure that you have everything in place to run it effectively. |
